Peyton Latham joined the Meridian School District in fifth grade.

Peyton Nicole Catherine Marie Latham was born on April 27, 2002, in Decatur, Il., to Dean and Angie Latham. She has one younger brother named Wyatt Latham.

Latham plans to attend Richland Community College to become an x-ray tech. She enjoys looking at the different types of bones because it interests her.

Latham has attended the Meridian School District since fifth grade and has participated in softball for four years, volleyball for two years, and Students Against Destructive Decisions (SADD) for three years.

Latham looks forward to new experiences in the future, however, she will miss seeing her friends the most.

Latham has many memories from Meridian that will stick with her throughout her life. In eighth grade, the softball team that she was on was the first team to go to state in middle school and she pitched every game that year. She was first-team all-conference her sophomore and junior years. She pitched almost every game that year and she ended with 23 wins.

Another memory is after every football game this past season, Latham, Jesse Damery, Alex Martin, Tyler Schilz, Jacob Jones, and Shane Smith would all pile into Damery’s car to go out to eat and hangout.

Another memory Latham has is when she won Homecoming Queen at the Homecoming Dance this past year. She was super excited to be on the court with Damery and Martin, so it just made the Homecoming Dance even better. Martin, Damery, Jones, Smith, and Schilz, all made her night memorable as they all danced together.

Another memory would be the school pep rallies. Latham always has enjoyed all of the pep rallies when the whole school gets together. There are games and competitions between the grades, which was always fun.

Latham would like to tell her fellow classmates thank you for the great friendships and memories.
