Heather Crackel has attended the Meridian School District for 12 years.

Heather Maclaine Crackel was born Feb. 7, 2002, in Decatur, Il., to Phillip and Jeanette Crackel. She has two sisters that are twins named Alexandra Crackel (fiance Dustin Brown) and Jessica Crackel.

Crackel plans to attend Richland Community College to get her associate’s degree in nursing and then transfer to Millikin University to get her BSN. She hopes to become a labor and delivery nurse at a hospital. She has always wanted to be a nurse since she was a little girl and loves babies. Crackel would love to help mothers in this stage of their pregnancies.

Crackel has attended Meridian High School all 12 years and has participated in cheerleading for seven years, soccer for three years, National Honors Society for two years, student council for four years and is also the treasurer of the club, SADD for three years, and FCS for three years. In her time off of school, Crackel works at Wildflour Artisan Bakery and Cafe and as a lifeguard at the Blue Mound Pool for the past two summers.

Crackel is excited to meet new people and start classes that will help her with her future. She is also excited to start her career. However, she will miss her friends who are leaving for college and her teachers, especially Ms. Christina Wherley. She will also miss going to her locker.

Crackel says she will always remember the friendships she has made over the past four years and that cheerleading supplied many memories for her.

Crackel would like her fellow classmates to know they are all in this together and will get through this time.

“Our class is so close, we are all family. These past four years with you guys have been some of the best years of my life so far and I want to say thank you for that!” Crackel said.
