Last Wednesday, March 28, was the first of few home track meets for Meridian High School.

“I think our team ran really well for our first meet. We got 2nd in the 4×100, 4×200, and 4×400,” said senior, Nate Durbin. “I think this season is going to be a great one for us.” Nate says he thinks the 4×100 team has a good chance of going to state. “We’ve been practicing really hard, and I think we got a shot.”

Not all athletes got to compete, as all field events were canceled due to the rain making the ground wet. “I was really excited to throw, but I couldn’t because of how wet it was,” said senior, Spencer Doss.

Cameron Getz, a senior high jumper, has a personal record of 6’8″ he achieved last year. For this year, though, he has bigger plans. “I really want to reach 6’10” by the end of the season.”
