Beep, beep, beep.

Some people in the mornings choose to ignore that annoying sound. Others get up to it immediately.

Some shower and leave early. Others don’t.

Some take an hour to put makeup on. Some go with natural beauty.

Some take forever to pick out the perfect outfit, others wear a hoodie and jeans.

We all have a different routine for in the morning. The students of Meridian tell us about their routine.

“When I wake up, the first thing I do is shut off my alarm, get dressed, and let my dogs out,” Haylee Wilson, sophomore, said.

Wilson then said she usually gets up with her alarm, saying, “It goes off and I hit snooze but then it comes back.”

“After I wake up, I usually stay in bed for 15 minutes and then I get up and get dressed,” Sieara Taylor, sophomore, said.

Taylor said she’s the type to stay in bed, even after her alarm goes off.

“The first thing I do in the morning is turn my alarm off and get out of bed to get ready for school,” said sophomore Mackenzie Reed.

Reed said she also hits snooze and goes back to bed for about five minutes.

“It takes me about 20 minutes to pick out the perfect outfit in the morning,” Wilson said.

Taylor said she picks her perfect outfit out about 5 minutes before she has to leave.

“Some days I pick it out the night before, other days I just don’t care,” said Reed.

Food became the next topic of interest.

“Sometimes it’s like half-and-half; sometimes I eat in my car in my parking lot and other times I eat at home,” Wilson said.

Reed said she doesn’t eat breakfast at home, but she usually does when she gets to school.

Taylor said she doesn’t eat breakfast at all in the mornings.

“Depends on the mood in the morning and if I’m going to be late,” Taylor said. “It takes a good five minutes to apply a full face of makeup.”

Wilson doesn’t wear makeup.

“I only wear mascara, eyeliner, and foundation,” Reed said. “It only takes me about 10-15 minutes to apply it.”
