There is talk of a Sadie Hawkins? Yes! February 17, Meridian is hosting its first Sadie Hawkins.

The Sadie Hawkins dance is a semi-formal dance that takes place in February, usually after Valentine’s day. Thanks to student council members and Mr. Stielow, Meridian will host a Sadie Hawkins. The dance is scheduled for February 17, from 7-10pm. Students will be upstairs in the balcony for the event. Mary Adams is a member of student council and says, “It is a good chance to have fun, and you can think of it as a second homecoming.”

“The dance will be a blast! I am not sure why people are not buying tickets, but if they plan on getting tickets, they need to get them as soon as possible. It will be so fun,” adds Adams.

If 80 tickets do not get sold by February 9, we will not have the dance. Last year, the dance we were going to have was canceled because not enough people bought tickets. Tickets will be sold at lunch and will be in Mr. Stielow’s room. We have only sold 14 dance tickets and have 66 more tickets to sell. The dance is a good chance for Meridian students to come together and make memories with their friends. Buy your tickets as soon as possible!

“It is a good chance for students to take a night off and have some fun together,” says Mr. Stielow.

Bailey Felter, senior, is concerned about getting enough tickets bought in time and says, “I’m excited to dance with my friends, and I am going to be really disappointed if I can’t go to it because not enough people bought, especially it being my senior year.”
