The Hobbit: The Desolation Of Smaug Movie Review

The Hobbit: The Desolation Of Smaug is one of the best movies out this year. This sequel to a prequel was a big hit this weekend, racking up $73 million and taking number one on the box office charts. This movie is a great follow up from where the last one left off.

Bilbo Baggins (Martin Freeman), Gandalf (Ian McKellen), and many of his dwarven companions are continuing their journey to take back the abandoned dwarven city that was destroyed and then inhabited by the dragon Smaug. Along the way they will encounter familiar faces such as Legolas (Orlando Bloom) who was in the Lord Of The Rings Trilogy which, also directed by Peter Jackson. Mr. Jackson has yet again produced another work of art with this movie. Mr. Jackson added humor to some of the action packed fight scenes. Such as a fat dwarf stuck in a barrel rolling down a hill into a bunch of orcs.

This is the second of three movies that Mr. Jackson plans on making for the Hobbit series. Recommend by movie critics, The Hobbit: The Desolation Of Smaug, is a must see. It might be confusing for someone who has not seen the first Hobbit or the Lord Of The Rings Trilogy.
