On November 18 of 2016 the new Pokémon games, Pokémon Sun and Pokémon Moon, were released for purchase.
The game introduces players to the brand new Alola region that contains variations of already existing generations of Pokémon. The new region came with three new starting Pokémon for the adventure. Rowlet, the grass typed owl, Litten, the fire typed cat, and finally Popplio, a water typed seal.
The storyline follows Hau, Lillie, and your character. Hau, your childhood best friend is a young male who strives to become the next island Kahuna, this game’s version of mini bosses.
Lillie is a young girl who is trying to stop the evil intentions of the Aether foundation and find out the mysteries behind her Pokémon friend, Nebby. Your story is your mother and you have just moved to Alola and now your goal is to defeat each island’s kahuna and the brand new elite four.
Having your friends with you and traveling the islands of Alola sounds great, but not everything is perfect in Alola. There is a Pokémon stealing team in every game so far, and this one is no different.
Team Skull, the Alola equivalent of Team Rocket are the admittedly dorky new gang in Pokémon. The team is made of three main “groups.” Guzma, Plumeria, and finally the grunts. Guzma is the leader of Team Skull who runs over the gang’s actions and appearances. Plumeria is the team’s co-leader who is treated as the group’s big sister. Finally, the grunts are the lowest group who don’t have names besides grunt.
So far, I have had a blast with this game. I have finished the main storyline and there is so much more to explore still. There are seemingly a million other extra things to do including the poke pellago, battle tree, or you could spend some time collecting the extra legendary guardians and ultra beasts.
Feel free to go and pick up a copy of the game yourself to discover the major twist ending and have your own Pokémon adventure.
